Sidney quality of life -am I missing something?

The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 6,396 people. Household incomes average around $51,704 in Sidney. Poverty rate is 6.1%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Hot summers
- Rising rent prices
- Lack of diversity
- Not enough green space
Any advice would be great. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 50, moved here 10 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Diverse dining options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The walkability situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for couples. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I work in construction here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is excellent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Mexican places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely improving and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The public transit is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.
