Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $440,600 on average. With a population of 25,025, Sienna is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Sienna sits at 183.3 per 100K. Household incomes average around $171,709 in Sienna. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Let me know your thoughts. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 10 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

I work in engineering here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Chicago it's improving.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much growing but now it's average.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
