Hey everyone, It's a a smaller city city with about 45,203 people. You can expect to pay around $1,110 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in marketing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much affordable but now it's better than expected.
