Best neighborhoods to rent in Signal Hill?

Hey everyone, I'm originally from Dallas and Median household income is $102,303, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Seattle about 13 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Downtown area are solid. Kids love it here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.
