The median home value here is around $158,100, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $827/month for a decent place. Median household income is $53,203, which feels on the lower side for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Let me know your thoughts. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Fairview area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
