I'm a remote worker and The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

I work in government here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is challenging. No regrets on my end..

Came here for weather and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor recreation is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 14 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into running, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in education. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
