Hello, Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $181,800 on average. Average temperature is around 71--F, so it's warm year-round. You can expect to pay around $1,231 for rent here. Rent is about $1,231/month for a decent place. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Silver Springs Shores? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much manageable but now it's better than expected.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Dallas about 2 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Portland about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is average in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2016 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone about the same since then.
