How much do you pay for rent in Silverton?

Hey, My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,479/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,479 for rent here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Growing food scene
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Far from major airports
Worth the trade-offs? TIA! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in legal. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Pine Hills area are challenging. Kids love it here.
