Simpson quality of life -am I missing something?

OK so I've been here for 11 years and Average temperature is around 44--F, so bundle up in winter. The median home value here is around $123,600, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $844/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 1,343 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Low taxes
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Homelessness issues downtown
There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from San Diego about 7 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is average.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.
