Career opportunities in Simpsonville, SC

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $79,233 in Simpsonville. Rent is about $1,322/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $267,500, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Simpsonville sits at 194.2 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Riverside for 14 years. Moved from Denver for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is improving - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Limited shopping options. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 8/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The healthcare is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely tough and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Uptown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Fairview for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- The cultural scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Springfield for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- The dating scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in finance. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 2 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
