The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Thoughts? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for school and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The traffic is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Fairview area are tough. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Eastside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The job market scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The dating scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely excellent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Westside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely tough and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Sunset) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Downtown area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2020 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
