As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much competitive but now it's surprisingly good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely tough and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Westside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 1 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into running, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The dating scene is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to New York it's decent.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely improving and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Midtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

I've lived in Westside for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The job market scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
