I'm a 49-year-old software engineer and Rent is about $936/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 85,651 people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Boston about 10 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
