Career opportunities in Skokie, IL

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,491/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I wrong here?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Charlotte it's improving.
