Is Skokie getting better or worse?
Random thought, I'm retired and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $93,550 in Skokie. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons:
- Hot summers
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
- Limited cultural events
