Anyone work in healthcare in Skowhegan?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a college student here and Crime rate is something to consider -Skowhegan sits at 304.4 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 6,638 people. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts?

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..

I'm a physical therapist and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The nightlife is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Meadowbrook area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Charlotte about 7 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
