Hey everyone, We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,664 people. Rent is about $1,381/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Easy commute
- Active local events

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Limited dining options
- Limited cultural events
Am I wrong here? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Riverside for 15 years. Moved from Boston for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The nightlife is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
