Career opportunities in Smiths Station, AL

Hey, I'm a 50-year-old real estate agent and Crime rate is something to consider -Smiths Station sits at 643.9 per 100K. Rent is about $946/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Any advice would be great. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely challenging and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (North) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.
