Curious what people think. I've been here for 8 years and Poverty rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. With a population of 24,940, Smithtown is a small town. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.
