How much do you pay for rent in Smyrna?

Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $96,780, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely solid and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 10 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely average and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community vibe is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Meadowbrook area are challenging. Kids love it here.
