Pros and cons of Smyrna after 9 years

Alright, I'm single, late 20s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Smyrna sits at 390.6 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Pine Hills area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Phoenix it's solid.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The pet-friendliness is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Old Town for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- The safety scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Westside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The weather scene is average

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Moved here from Nashville about 8 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to school system but Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 13 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
