Not sure if this has been asked before, but Median household income is $88,378, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,794 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Would love some local perspective. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I've lived in North for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- The nightlife scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for family and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The pet-friendliness is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Downtown area are solid. Kids love it here.

I work in legal here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a pharmacist, 24, moved here 12 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Downtown and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Limited public transit options
3. The dating scene situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for young professionals. tough vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$110K here.
**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..
