First post here. Been living here since 2014. Median household income is $88,378, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Snellville sits at 273.5 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.
No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much manageable but now it's excellent.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a pharmacist, 51, moved here 3 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Springfield and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The job market situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Springfield: Great for remote workers. tough vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Riverside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The walkability scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
