Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $244,400, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $82,188 in Social Circle. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Anyone in a similar situation? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Fairview for 3 years. Moved from Austin for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Dating scene is rough. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Minneapolis it's solid.
