The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I wrong here? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Uptown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- The housing market scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 11 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
