How much do you pay for rent in Soledad?
Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I wrong here? Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I work in construction here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is underrated. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Boston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
