Things that make Solon unique

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Solon sits at 345.1 per 100K. Rent is about $1,166/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a small town city with about 3,092 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What are your go-to spots? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Old Town for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- The weather scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in education. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in retail. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
