Is Solon a good place to live?

Longtime lurker here, Just moved here 8 months ago and Homes are going for about $375,700 on average. Poverty rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 9 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
