Hello, I grew up here but left for a while. Rent is about $875/month for a decent place. With a population of 6,590, Solvay is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Is this normal for Solvay? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
