Relocating to South Burlington, VT -pros and cons?
Been meaning to ask this. I'm retired and It's a a small town city with about 20,488 people. Homes are going for about $399,600 on average. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Worth the trade-offs? The weather takes some getting used to.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for school and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The traffic is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Eastside. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much manageable but now it's hit or miss.
