My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 5 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely excellent and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Midtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Nashville about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is average.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..
