First time home buyer in South Euclid

Hello, Been living here since 2021. Crime rate is something to consider -South Euclid sits at 126.5 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Would love some local perspective. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 36, moved here 12 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Eastside and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Can feel isolated
3. The walkability situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for couples. decent vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $50K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I work in government here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is tough. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The dating scene is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Riverside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The traffic scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Eastside for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The dating scene scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..
