Moving to South Fulton for work -advice?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Been living here since 2010. With a population of 109K, South Fulton is a mid-size city. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for South Fulton? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great seafood places. I love the pace of life here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely pretty good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Limited entertainment options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Springfield area are improving. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 15 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into running, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Boston about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
