Curious what people think. Median household income is $81,798, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 109K, South Fulton is a mid-size city. The unemployment rate is 5.1%, which is about average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Does this match your experience? The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- The pet-friendliness scene is average
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in The Heights. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
