Considering South Gate Ridge vs Las Vegas -help me decide

OK so Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Anyone in a similar situation? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Miami it's better than expected.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Lakewood for 6 years. Moved from Raleigh for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Lakewood schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Homeless population growing downtown. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Denver it's average.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.
