Is public transit usable in South Haven?

Hi all, My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 7,177, South Haven is a small town. Rent is about $1,308/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Dallas about 7 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The walkability is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The cost of living is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in legal. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's pretty good.
