Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $493,800 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Has anyone dealt with this?

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Thai places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Dallas about 2 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much manageable but now it's challenging.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is solid in most areas.
