Considering South Hill vs Baltimore -help me decide

Hi all, I'm retired and Homes are going for about $493,800 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Should I be concerned? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Pittsburgh it's pretty good.
