Biggest downsides of living in South Houston?
OK so Been living here since 2009. You can expect to pay around $1,174 for rent here. Poverty rate is 22.4%, which is higher than I expected. Crime rate is something to consider -South Houston sits at 464.5 per 100K. Median household income is $52,611, which feels on the lower side for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Any advice would be great. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
