Hey, I'm a 27-year-old real estate agent and The unemployment rate is 5.5%, which is about average. With a population of 3,255, South Jacksonville is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What are your go-to spots? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The pet-friendliness is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in construction. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Korean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The dating scene scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
