Hey everyone, I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $614,800 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Raleigh about 8 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

I've lived in East for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The cultural scene scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a teacher and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is solid and there's always something going on.
