My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,806/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Is this normal for South Jordan?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Lakewood area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
