Just moved to South Jordan from LA — first impressions

We made the move 5 ago and here are my first impressions:

Cost of living is reasonable for what you get. Rent runs about $1,806/month for a typical apartment. Weather is moderate — about 49F average.

Biggest surprise: Traffic is worse than I thought
Biggest disappointment: Public transit could be better

Overall, I plan to stay long-term.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is check out the local Facebook groups for neighborhood info. Makes a big difference.

Respectfully disagree about the cost of living assessment. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 14 years and my experience is very similar.

Rent tip: look for places in January-February. Prices drop and there's more availability.
