Relocating to South Jordan, UT -pros and cons?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a teacher here and You can expect to pay around $1,806 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $126,400, which feels pretty solid for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in government. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
