South Kensington in the winter -how bad?

Alright, Born and raised here. It's a a small town city with about 8,057 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What are your go-to spots? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely pretty good and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Midtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a project manager and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Austin it's decent.
