Just moved to South Lake Tahoe, any tips?

OK so Crime rate is something to consider -South Lake Tahoe sits at 501.9 per 100K. The median home value here is around $630,200, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $73,940, which feels about average for the area. Household incomes average around $73,940 in South Lake Tahoe. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Anyone in a similar situation? The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
