The good and bad of living in South Laurel

OK so I'm a 30-year-old marketing manager and Poverty rate is 8.9%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
