Internet providers in South Lyon?

Hi all, Median household income is $83,822, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -South Lyon sits at 50.4 per 100K. Rent is about $1,208/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $280,900, which seems about average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much manageable but now it's hit or miss.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 26, moved here 13 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in Pine Hills and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Can feel isolated
3. The housing market situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for retirees. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
