Rent vs buy in South Miami -what makes sense?
So, I've been here for 8 years and The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from LA about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..
