Curious what people think. I'm a remote worker and It's a a small town city with about 17,563 people. Rent is about $1,334/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I wrong here? Thanks! Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The healthcare is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The safety is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

I'm a nurse and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
